Our story
CAES was created in 2019 by Helen de Kluiver, based on our belief that fashion does not have to be fast or seasonal. Instead, CAES designs timeless garments that can be worn year-round and for many seasons to come.
The name CAES (pronounced 'case') refers both to the way clothing forms a protective layer, wrapping our bodies like a case, and to honor Helen’s late father Kees. He passed away when she was 14 and his dedication to research and nurturing our planet inspire her to this day.
CAES collections are launched twice yearly as editions, and include a selection of carry over styles from previous editions to highlight the longevity of our designs. We demonstrate the timelessness of our items through our styling, by mixing new launches and carry over styles with vintage pieces. Where possible, we use the same fabrics and yarns in new editions to better unite old and new collections and eliminate material waste.
CAES is currently being sold in a selection of stores worldwide, both online and offline, including SSENSE, Net-A-Porter and INCU. We jump at the chance of collaborating with like-minded people, and have proudly worked together with many of our clients and independent artists. If you share our beliefs and wish to carry CAES in your store or collaborate with us, we’d love to hear from you.
CAES is based in Amsterdam.
